The VAWG Initiative Campaign
A comprehensive branding and public relations campaign developed for Barnet Council to address Violence Against Women and Girls through creative communication and community engagement.
The Story
The VAWG Initiative originated from a critical brief provided by Barnet Council. As lead creative, I was tasked with developing a communication strategy that would effectively reach diverse demographics across the borough. The goal was to dismantle silence around the issue while providing clear, actionable pathways for support and education. This project challenged my ability to balance sensitive subject matter with high-impact visual design.
The Process
The Results
Leveraging my background in advertising and PR, I began with deep-dive research into successful public service campaigns. I focused on iterative design, creating several visual identities that moved away from clichéd imagery toward a more modern, type-driven aesthetic. Collaborative sessions with stakeholders ensured the messaging was culturally sensitive and aligned with the council's strategic objectives.
The final campaign concept received strong commendation from council leaders for its bold approach. By using vibrant contrast and clear, direct copy, we achieved higher engagement rates during testing phases. This project solidified my commitment to using branding as a tool for social impact, proving that creative communication can drive meaningful awareness in local communities.
Campaign Echo: Visual Identity
A strategic exploration into visual identity and public relations, designed to amplify community voices through bold typography and impactful layouts.
The Story
This project began with a challenge to redefine how local initiatives in North London communicate their impact. Urban Echoes sought to bridge the gap between grassroots advocacy and high-end visual communication, ensuring every message felt both personal and professional.
The Process
Our approach was rooted in deep ethnographic research and iterative visual testing. We explored over fifty typographic variations before landing on a custom typeface that captured the 'rhythm' of the city. The branding system was built to be modular, allowing it to adapt to everything from social media stickers to large-scale billboards.
The Results
The final campaign achieved a 40% increase in community engagement during the pilot phase. Beyond the metrics, the project successfully established a new visual standard for non-traditional public relations, being featured in several niche design journals for its edgy yet accessible aesthetic.
Urban Echo: Campaign Identity
A deep dive into sensory branding, exploring how Gen-Z subcultures in North London interact with luxury advertising through digital and physical mediums.
The Story
Urban Echo began as an academic project at Middlesex University that quickly evolved into a comprehensive study of brand resonance. The goal was to dismantle the traditional 'top-down' luxury advertising approach and replace it with a narrative that felt authentic to the streets that inspire it.
The Process
The execution involved a month of field research, documenting aesthetic shifts in North London streetwear culture. Using Adobe Premiere and Photoshop, I developed a visual language that utilized grainy textures and minimalist grids, ensuring the brand felt both gritty and polished.
The Results
The campaign received high praise from industry mentors for its technical execution and conceptual depth. It served as a flagship piece for my creative portfolio, demonstrating a unique ability to bridge the gap between PR strategy and artistic design.
